FACE OF WOHA HISTORY
Face of Woha was established by Dr. Desziree Richardson, a passionate advocate for girls' education and a fervent believer in the unifying strength of diverse women. Her mission is to empower women to discover their voices, uncover their true purpose, reclaim their strengths, and embrace their greatness.
In 2018, the International Women of Heart Foundation was born, paving the way for the Women of Heart Awards (WOHA). This prestigious annual gala celebrates extraordinary women from around the globe who embody the spirit of kindness, compassion, and the heartbeat of humanity. WOHA's success inspired the creation of the Face of Women of Heart Awards (Face of Woha) in 2022—a powerful platform for women that encompasses brand offerings, fashion, and impactful speaking engagements to share transformative messages worldwide.
Throughout my life, I’ve faced numerous challenges and battled self-doubt. I know the sting of feeling inadequate and the struggle through dark nights of the soul. Five transformative yet straightforward words changed my perspective: "Take care of your emotions." While I’ve always known how to love others, learning to love myself has been a pivotal journey that I was not initially taught. I realised I needed to choose myself. We can uplift each other by educating and empowering others with the right guidance and knowledge. My experiences have fueled my global vision for change and uplifting women in global communities.
In 2020, during the lockdown, Face of Woha emerged as a beacon of hope and empowerment through the internet. It became a virtual space where messages of enlightenment, resilience, ambition, and inspiration could reach women and girls worldwide.
Face of Woha is excited to transition from a virtual presence to a live event.
